 Empyrean Tunic

    by Anne Kuo Lukito

A light and lacy layering tunic. Tunic is worked top-down with a raglan construction. Working on larger needles and the cable stitch pattern give the garment a very interesting and pleasing texture.

Sample shown used Louet Euroflax 14/2 Linen (100% linen)

Recommended yarns for substitution: A lace weight yarn in a solid or semi-solid color, preferably a yarn with a little of texture, such as a 100% hemp lace or hemp blend, tussah silk lace or tussah silk/wool blend. While a 100% fine silk (bombyx, the shiny slick type of silk) yarn would work, the drape and texture would be very different from the general look and feel of the pattern as shown. NOT recommended: cotton, alpaca, bamboo yarns.

Pattern is available in the Summer 2010 issue of Interweave Knits. The individual pattern is not yet available, but you can buy the Summer issue of the magazine here!
