 Lakedale

    by Anne Kuo Lukito

Brioche knitting creates wonderful textures and

patterns that are reversible. However, sometimes

the fabric it creates can be bulky and more

challenging to shape. With Lakedale, I challenged

myself to design a shaped, stream-ined garment

featuring brioche techniques. The jacket fronts

feature small two-color brioche cable columns

that lend a striking visual impact with slimming

vertical lines. Since the patterning is completely

reversible, the collar can be worn straight or

folded.

The jacket body is worked bottom-up with a

two-color brioche edging. Front plackets and

set-in sleeves are worked separately, then seamed

to the garment body. The sleeves are worked in

the round until the sleeve cap shaping.
