 Pfeiffer Falls

    by Anne Kuo Lukito

Inspiration for Pfeiffer Falls came when I was thinking about what my mother would have wanted to keep her warm when she was ill. The result is a classic, but modern multi-functional scarf with a large billowy, rounded hood. Two large, deep pockets add style and offer a great place to store a few trinkets, and keep your hands warm in chilly weather as well.

Pfeiffer Falls comes in 3 sizes, includes instructions for optional ruffles that flank the scarf ends and along the hood rim.

Pfeiffer Falls was originally published in Interweave Knits, Winter 2008.

Q: Why are you selling your version of the pattern for $0.25 more than the magazine version?

A: The self-published version of my pattern contains extra features not included in the magazine version such as both U.S. Standard and International metric measurements, written-out instructions for the pattern chart, extra photos, a special handy easy to use charted instructions to assist in grafting in pattern, and embedded live hyperlinks. I also sell hardcopy patterns, so printing for a 6-page pattern are also factored into the cost. More explanation in this blog post.

Recommended yarns: A springy wool or wool blend yarn with at least 75% or more wool. I don't recommend blends with cellulose fibers, such as tencel or bamboo for this project. Some yarn suggestions: Rio de la Plata Merino Pampa Solid, Mission Falls 1824 Wool, Cascade 220 Superwash, Zitron Loft Classic, Zitron Nimbus Solid, Nimbus Multi  Schulana Fashion Silk, The Fibre Company Organik, Zitron Cambio, SWTC Karaoke, SWTC Therapi
