Roseling

This fun-to-knit cardigan has singular stripes, which is achieved by working in the round, then steeked. The front and back raglan columns meet the column that runs on the underside of the sleeve to form 5 vertical columns along each side. The columns and the white button band give draws the eye vertically.

Valley Yarns Northfield (124 yds / 113 m per 1 ¾ oz / 50 g skein; 70% Merino, 20% Baby Alpaca, 10% Silk):
4 (5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5) balls in White (MC); 3 (4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4) balls in Red (CC)

US 4/ 3.5mm double pointed needles needle, or size to obtain gauge

US 6/ 4mm circular needles, 16" / 40 cm, 24" / 60 cm, and 32" /80 cm long

US 6/ 4mm double pointed needles needle, or size to obtain gauge

Size G US / 4 mm crochet hook

Five stitch markers (four for raglan, one for end of round), four removable stitch markers
Six buttons, 7/8" / 22 mm diameter
Sewing needle and coordinating thread

Waste yarn

Gauge

21 sts and 27 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch worked in the round with alternating stripes (1 round MC, 1 round CC) using larger needles
21 sts and 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in 1x1 ribbing pattern (a little stretched) using smaller needles
