This scarf has a quite elegance that is sure to receive compliments.
The contrast of the shiny satin ribbon with the texture of the handspun yarn gives it even more interest.
Finished size: 5” wide
Yarn: 2 skeins Rio de la Plata Wool (138 yd/100g) (a great newer yarn is Rio de la Plata Merino Pampa)
Needles: US 10.5 straight needles
Gauge: 22 sts x18 rows = 4” in 1x1 rib
Other Notions: approx. 3 yards of double-faced satin ribbon
Notes: It helps to use markers when working the eyelet pattern so that you don’t have to keep counting the stitches.
INSTRUCTIONS:
CO 25 sts
Rows 1 and 3: *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of row.
Rows 2 and 4: *p1, k1; repeat from * to end of row.
Eyelet Pattern
Row 1: (k1, p1) 4 times; k1, yo, k2tog, p1, k1, p1, ssk**, yo, k1; (p1, k1) 4 times
Row 2: *p1, k1; repeat from * to end of row
Row 3: *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of row.
Row 4: repeat row 2
Work rows 1-4 for eyelet pattern 7 more times à measures about 8.5” from CO, 8 pairs of eyelet holes.
Main Body
Rows 1: *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of row.
Rows 2: *p1, k1; repeat from * to end of row.
Continue the 1x1 rib pattern until 7.5” less than desired length
Eyelets
Work Eyelet Pattern above 8 times.
FINISHING
BO loosely in pattern. Weave in ends and block. Lace ribbon through eyelet holes.
