 Linh's Ivy

    by Anne Kuo Lukito

This airy lace scarf was worked with hand-painted yarns of different textures and complementary colorways.  The combination of the yarns give additional dimention to the lace pattern.

It's a fast and easy knit and would make a great gift.

Finished size: approx. 5” wide

Yarn:  Sugar Apple Creations Hand-painted Cashmerino (60% Cashmere, 40% Merino Wool) in Lavender colorway

Sugar Apple Creations Hand-painted Kid Mohair (100% Kid Mohair) in Spring Moss colorway

Yarn Substitutions:  The Cashmerino is a light sport weight yarn.  The mohair is a laceweight.  Unfortunately, I forgot to note how many yards I had used, but you should be able to make a long enough scarf with about 200-220 yards of yarn.

Needles:  US 10 straight needles

NOTES:

k2tog - knit two stiches together

p2tog - purl two stitches together

ssk - slip, slip, knit. Slip the 1st and 2nd stitches knitwise and knit them together.

p2togb- purl two stitches together through the back loops. If you haven't done this one before, it's a little awkward, but not hard. You're just sticking your RH needle from left to right from the back loops of the 2 stiches, then you purl them together.

If you prefer to use a chart instead of row by row instructions, use the one below.  I've numbered the rows in accordance to the corresponding written instructions. This is a very basic pattern with 3 rows of seed stitch at both ends of the scarf.  The lace pattern is repeated twice and inserted between 3-stitch seed stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
