I noticed that Mother Nature had created many things in spiral patterns, from fern fronds to shells to whirlpools. Thus, I was inspired to create my own. The spirals of Twister start at the brim, traveling upwards until they merge in a vortex at the crown.
This hat pattern is unique in that you start by making the brim (bill), and then you attach it seamlessly to the hat body and work the turned hem at the same time. This is a pattern for the more experienced knitter, or one who is not afraid to try something more challenging. Skills needed to knit this hat include mastery of working in the round, working in the round with 2 circular needles and on double-pointed needles, casting on provisionally onto 2 circular needles, 3-needle knitting, and working twisted stitches.
The pattern is written with 5 pages of clear and detailed instructions in a professionally designed layout, with several photos, and very readable text in 11pt font. Measurements given in US standard and metric.
